Day Programs
Centre-based Day Program
In 2006, we operate from four locations based
at Carramar, Sefton, Punchbowl and Chester Hill, which provide
individual services to many seventy-five young adults and
their families who live in the Fairfield, Bankstown and Liverpool
Local Government Areas.
The Carramar and Punchbowl locations offer a
centre-based program, where clients come to the program in the
morning, participate in small group activities during the day
and then go home from the program.

Non Centre-based Day Program
The Sefton and Chester Hill non-centre based
programs provide individual support services to young adults
in the Fairfield, Liverpool and Bankstown areas. The non-centre
based programs offer support to clients to meet their Individual
goals. This way, young adults have the opportunity to develop
a program specific to the clients’ needs. Services can
be provided in a variety of settings such as Community College,
Work experience etc. We also offer a unique course to assist
clients to Transition to Work. This course is called WORKability.

Eligibility Criteria
The NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care has set eligibility criteria, which school leavers must meet to access funding. The criteria are:
The person must:
- have a disability
- be assessed to have moderate to high support needs
- be leaving school in the year prior to entering the program
- be 18 years of age prior to entering the program
- have no appropriate or alternative post - school placement
As defined by the NSW Disability Services Act (1993), disability is a condition that:
- is attributable to an intellectual, physical, sensory or psychiatric or like impairments or a combination of such impairments;
- that is permanent or likely to be permanent; and which results in –
- significantly reduced capacity in one or more major life activities such as communication, learning, mobility, decision-making, or self care; and the need for support, whether or not of an ongoing nature.
Currently, school leavers are assessed in their final year of school by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care to see if they are eligible for funding and support through the Community Participation or Transition to Work Programs. The department then allocates its funding on a case-by-case basis. School leavers who are allocated funding are notified by the department and then given the opportunity to meet different service providers and to choose the service which best meets their needs.
