At Woodville Alliance, we’re all about strengthening communities.
Last week we had the opportunity to showcase how we work towards achieving this goal when we held our AGM celebration.
The celebration showcased artwork from our Disability Services clients and an inspiring story about one of our Community Initiatives clients in a video presentation (stay tuned for more on that at a later date). We also launched the What Woodville means to me video.
In the video our very own staff, clients and families tell us, in their first language, what it is about Woodville Alliance that is special. Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, Filipino, Auslan…these are just some of the languages of the CALD people we work with and support every day. The diversity of the community in which we operate is very much on show in this new video.
As is tradition at our AGM celebration, we witnessed a performance by the EARTH Echoes choir, a group of our Disability Services clients who express themselves through song. Led by Disability Support Worker Montclair and Woodville community member Lauren, the choir members absolutely love having the opportunity to showcase their abilities and love of singing. With passionate voices and movement, the choir members prove that intellectual disability is no barrier to achieving their goals.
We had an update from our Early Childhood Education and Care team and celebrated the 20 years of dedicated service by staff member Chriss. It is a testament to our organisation that Chriss was not the only staff member commemorating 20 years of service at our AGM. Disability Support Worker Luke was also presented with a certificate and gift marking his 20 years of service to Disability Services clients and families.
