Community Christmas Party

On Tuesday, 20th of December 2016, Woodville Alliance organised a community Christmas Party for local kids and their families. This joyful celebration of the Festive Season and the beginning of school holidays, took place at our colourful Earth Centre in Fairfield East. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, tasty food, fun activities, dancing, singing and a very special visit from Santa Claus. Santa gave out close to one hundred presents to kids and young people of all ages, which was made possible by a generous donation from The Salvation Army.

The moment Santa Clause and his loyal Elf entered the Earth Centre a stampede of kids flocked around them; to hug them, take photos with them and receive a present. One by one, they reassured Santa that they were good in 2016 and that they definitely deserve a present, or two. Other popular activities were pass-the-parcel, cookie decorating, photo booth, face painting and temporary tattoos.

Woodville’s Community Initiatives staff who organised this event were just as excited because they were able to mingle with the local community – for the first time at the wonderful, vibrant and kid-friendly Earth Centre. The feedback from attendees was very positive and in 2017 we look forward to taking the community Christmas Party to a whole new level, and hopefully organising it jointly with local children and parents. If you are interested in taking part in that or initiating other events and activities for local kids and families, get in touch with us in 2017!

We wish our whole community a wonderful summer break, a Happy New Year and for those who celebrate, a Merry Christmas!
